Akshardham Temple in Jodhpur Nears Completion, Consecration Ceremony Set for September 25th

The construction of the magnificent Akshardham temple, built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha in the Kali Beri area of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is nearing its final stages. This divine temple will be consecrated on September 25th, with His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj himself present to perform the Murti Pratishtha (idol installation) ceremony. A seven-day Pratishtha Mahotsav (consecration festival) is being organized for this occasion, and is expected to be attended by millions of devotees from India and abroad. In view of the grandeur of the ceremony, local administration and organizers have intensified preparations.

Constructed with Jodhpur Stone

Spread over approximately 40 bighas of land, this magnificent Akshardham temple is entirely constructed of Jodhpur red stone. The carvings on its walls, pillars, and domes reflect the excellence of Indian craftsmanship. Every artifact in the temple enlivens the dignity of ancient Sanatan culture, giving a new dimension to the cultural heritage of Marudhara (the desert region). This construction is not only unique from an architectural point of view, but is also going to become a center of spiritual energy.

Akshardham to Become a Center of Spiritual Inspiration

The BAPS Sanstha, founded in 1907 on Vedic principles, is currently working globally in the fields of service, values, and spirituality under the leadership of Mahant Swami Maharaj. The Akshardham temple being built in Jodhpur will not only become a symbol of faith, but will also serve as a source of inspiration for spirituality, culture, and service for future generations. This divine abode will infuse a new life of values and devotion into the land of Marubhoomi (desert land), which will further enhance the glory of Marwar's identity.
