Following this incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah issued a b statement criticizing the Congress and stated that such politics by the Congress is detached from issues and is negative.
Amit Shah Condemns Congress's Efforts
Addressing a rally in Guwahati, the capital of Assam, Amit Shah said that the Congress party is continuously resorting to hatred and negative politics. He stated that the use of abuses against the Prime Minister and his mother from the stage of Rahul Gandhi's "Ghuspaithiya Bachao Yatra" (Save the Infiltrators March) is unacceptable in any democratic country. Shah described this as low-level politics and a move to incite the population.
The Home Minister further stated that Congress leaders such as Sonia Gandhi, Digvijaya Singh, Mani Shankar Aiyar, Jairam Ramesh, and many others have used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from time to time. He gave examples, saying that some called Modi a venomous snake, some called him "neech" (lowly), some called him Ravan and Bhasmasur, and some called him a virus. Amit Shah cited this as evidence of Congress's long-standing negative political approach.
"The More Abuses, The More the Lotus Will Bloom"
Countering the Congress's accusations, Amit Shah asserted that the more abuses the Congress hurls, the bigger and ber the lotus will emerge. He said that this effort by the Congress cannot impact the public mandate. Shah clarified that in every election, the Congress has used abuses and attempted to demean public life, but it has not benefited them in any way.
The Home Minister stated that the "Ghuspaithiya Bachao Yatra" is merely an attempt to save vote banks and is against the fundamental principles of democracy. He questioned the public, asking if it could be safe in any democratic country to influence the election process by including infiltrators in the voter list.

Detailing the lives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his mother, Amit Shah said that Modi Ji's mother raised her children with values in poverty and made them a world-class leader. He stated that the people of India will never tolerate such abuses and the spreading of hatred towards anyone in public life.
Shah urged Congress leaders that if Rahul Gandhi has any shred of shame left, he should apologize to Modi Ji, his mother, and the people of the country. The Home Minister said that this is necessary to maintain the dignity of Indian politics and democracy.
