Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu is on an official visit to Japan. During this visit, he held several high-level meetings in Tokyo aimed at promoting cultural and economic cooperation between India and Japan.
Tokyo: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu held several high-level meetings in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, with the aim of enhancing cultural and economic cooperation between India and Japan. During this visit, the Chief Minister met with Yasutoshi Nishimura, President of the Japan-India Parliamentary Friendship League, and discussed further strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
Meeting with Parliamentary Friendship League
In the meeting with Yasutoshi Nishimura, a member of Japan's House of Representatives and President of the Japan-India Parliamentary Friendship League, both leaders discussed various aspects of the India-Japan partnership. The primary focus of the meeting was on further promoting cultural exchange and development cooperation. CM Khandu wrote in his social media post after the meeting:
'We discussed strengthening India-Japan cultural ties and exploring new opportunities for development cooperation. This partnership will deepen friendship and collaboration between the two nations.'
It was also decided in the meeting that cultural programs, educational, and technical exchanges would be promoted between the two countries.
Discussions on Economic Cooperation

Chief Minister Khandu also met with Toshiaki Nishikawa, CEO of the Japanese company ASEAN Group Limited. During this meeting, strategies to increase the presence of the Indian workforce in Japan were discussed. Nishikawa expressed his commitment to cooperate with Indian states in promoting Japanese language learning and skill development programs.
CM Khandu stated that this initiative would boost economic cooperation and investment between the two countries and open new employment and business opportunities for various Indian states, including Arunachal Pradesh. It was also decided in the meeting that new initiatives would be undertaken in the areas of cultural exchange programs, educational cooperation, and technical training between India and Japan. Under this, developmental and training programs will be organized for students, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
On this occasion, CM Khandu stated that Arunachal Pradesh can strategically benefit in the direction of cultural and economic cooperation. Partnerships with Japan in the fields of tourism, education, and skill development in the state will open new avenues for local youth.
India's Growing Influence in Japan
This visit by the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh is a significant step towards further strengthening India-Japan relations. Increasing the presence of Indian talent and resources in Japan, along with encouraging technical and cultural exchanges, will prove beneficial for the long-term relationship between both countries.
