Ashes Theft Attempt on Rishikesh Express: BJP Leader's Ordeal

A deeply emotional and shocking incident occurred on a moving train with BJP leader Devendra Inani from Indore, who was traveling to Haridwar. Devendra Inani was traveling to Haridwar on the Rishikesh Express on the night of July 20 with the ashes of his deceased mother and three other relatives. He was traveling with nine members of his family and boarded the train from Laxmibai Nagar station in Indore.

Around 4 am, while the train was between Morena and Agra Cantt stations, a young man stealthily entered the S-2 coach from the S-4 coach and tried to quietly leave with a bag full of ashes. However, Inani woke up and caught the young man red-handed while he was taking the bag.

Passengers Showed Vigilance

Upon hearing the BJP leader's outcry, other passengers immediately became active. Everyone together apprehended the accused and beat him severely. During interrogation, it was revealed that he had tried to steal the urn containing the ashes, which sparked outrage among the passengers. As soon as the train reached Agra Cantt station, the accused was handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP).

Upon receiving information about the incident, the GRP started investigating the matter. The police are identifying the accused and are engaged in scanning his previous criminal records. It is being said that the accused is a resident of Gwalior.

Two Empty Wallets Found in the Toilet

This incident on the train has shaken the passengers. When the accused was searched, two empty wallets were also recovered from the train's toilet. During this time, another passenger reported that his mobile phone was also stolen and thrown out of the train. This made it clear that the accused is a professional thief and has targeted passengers before.

The BJP leader said that the stolen bag was very special because it contained the ashes of his mother and three other relatives, which he was taking to immerse in the Ganges. This incident was emotionally very painful for him.

Police Engaged in Investigation

After the incident, all the passengers have resumed their journey, but the passenger whose mobile was stolen stayed at Agra Cantt station to file a report with the GRP. The police are interrogating the accused to find out whether he was working alone or is connected to a gang.

The Railway Police say that such incidents are serious and the safety of passengers is paramount. Legal action is being taken in the matter and the process of getting the guilty party severely punished has been started.

Major Incident Averted Due to Passengers' Alertness

This incident has once again proved that the vigilance of passengers can avert major incidents. The attempted theft on the moving train not only raises questions about law and order but also shows how important it is to keep an eye on criminals hiding in the crowd. Fortunately, due to timely action, the bag full of ashes was recovered and the accused was caught and handed over to the police.

The Railway Administration and GRP are now investigating this entire matter so that such incidents do not recur in the future.
