BSP Leader Ashok Siddharth Publicly Apologizes to Mayawati, Seeks Re-entry

Former Rajya Sabha MP and leader of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Akash Anand's father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, has publicly apologized to BSP supremo Mayawati. He has sought forgiveness from Mayawati for his past mistakes and appealed for his return to the party.

UP Politics: Once again, there is a stir in the politics of Uttar Pradesh for the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Ashok Siddharth, a former Rajya Sabha MP and senior party leader, who is the father-in-law of Akash Anand, has publicly apologized to BSP supremo Mayawati and appealed for his return to the party. This move is being seen as a potential shift in state politics.

Ashok Siddharth's Apology: Admitted Mistake, Appealed for Return

Ashok Siddharth posted on his social media account X (formerly Twitter) stating that he made some mistakes while working in the party, for which he apologizes to Mayawati with folded hands. He clarified that he will not make any mistakes in the future and will work entirely under the party's discipline and Mayawati's guidance.

He said, "I, Ashok Siddharth, former BSP MP, respect the National President Mayawati. For whatever mistake I have made, I apologize with folded hands. I will never make a mistake in the future and will work within the party's discipline." Ashok Siddharth also clarified that he would not recommend bringing back other expelled leaders and would focus solely on his own role.

What Was the Reason for Expulsion?

It is worth noting that on February 12, 2025, Mayawati expelled Ashok Siddharth from the BSP on charges of anti-party activities and factionalism. At that time, he was among the trusted leaders of the party and was counted among Mayawati's close associates. Ashok Siddharth represented the party as a Rajya Sabha MP, and besides that, he has also been a member of the Legislative Council (MLC).

The reason behind his expulsion was stated to be factionalism and indiscipline within the party. However, by expressing his faith and respect towards Mayawati now, he has sought a public apology, which has increased the possibility of his return.

This initiative by Ashok Siddharth comes at a time when his son-in-law, Akash Anand, has been given a significant responsibility in the BSP. Akash Anand is considered the young face and active leader of the party, who has started working with new energy and strategy within the organization. Akash Anand's growing role in the BSP and the re-joining of his family into the party is considered part of a strategy to create balance within the organization.
