Some Holidays Limited to Specific States

It is important to note that some holidays are limited to the respective states only. For example, on Maharaja Bir Bikram's birthday in Tripura, banks will be closed only in Agartala. Similarly, on Ganesh Chaturthi, there will be a holiday in some cities of states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Goa, Odisha, while banks may remain open in other places.

Digital Services Will Remain Active

Although bank branches will remain closed during these holidays, digital services like net banking, mobile banking, ATMs, UPI, and card transactions will continue to function as before. Customers can easily use online banking services.

Check Local Holidays Before Banking Work

If you want to visit a bank on any day to avail services like cash deposit, check clearance, or draft, it is better to first check whether there is a bank holiday in your state or city on that day. State-level holidays can often disrupt services in local branches.

How RBI Determines Holidays

Every year, the Reserve Bank of India releases a list of bank holidays for all states under the 'Negotiable Instruments Act'. It includes three types of holidays – national holidays, holidays related to religious-cultural festivals, and local holidays declared according to the states.

Complete Important Work on Time Between Bank Holidays

If you want to get any important bank-related work done in the month of August, plan your schedule keeping all these holidays in mind. In case of long holidays, the work in bank branches may slow down, and transactions may also get delayed.

Cash and Transaction Planning is Necessary

During the festive season, there is often a higher demand for cash in bank ATMs. Long queues can form at ATMs before holidays. In such a situation, it is better to meet the need for cash in time so that there is no problem later.

Online Transactions Will Provide Relief

For customers who need to transact during the holidays, online transactions are the best option. In today's era, almost all banks provide services through mobile apps and internet banking, allowing customers to complete necessary tasks without visiting the bank.

This List Helpful for Banking Planning in August

This list of bank holidays is very important for customers so that they can complete all their necessary tasks in time. It is especially important for those who are planning travel, business, or large payments.
