Bhagalpur prepares 10 kilometre Ram Navami procession with expected participation of 10000 devotees

Bhagalpur is preparing for a 10 kilometre Ram Navami procession expected to see participation from around 10000 devotees, featuring tableaux, devotional activities, and administrative arrangements for security and traffic management.

Preparations are underway in Bhagalpur for a Ram Navami procession that is set to cover approximately 10 kilometres through major city routes, with an estimated participation of around 10,000 devotees.

The procession will feature a decorated idol of Lord Ram as its central attraction, alongside multiple tableaux depicting episodes from his life, including Ram Janm, exile, Sita Haran and the Ram-Ravan war. Artists have been working for several days to prepare these displays.

Devotional activities, including bhajan-kirtan, Ramdhun and chants of “Jai Shri Ram”, are scheduled throughout the route. Devotees will participate in traditional attire, and flower showers are planned at multiple points to स्वागत the procession. Various social and religious organisations will also set up service camps to distribute water, sharbat and prasad.

Administrative authorities have made arrangements for security and traffic management. Police personnel will be deployed along the entire route, with additional security at identified sensitive locations. A traffic diversion plan will also be implemented to ensure smooth movement and minimise disruption.

According to organisers, the procession represents religious faith as well as social unity and cultural tradition, with participation expected in large numbers as in previous years.

Ram Navami is observed across the country as the birth anniversary of Lord Ram, marked by special prayers in temples and processions. The 10-kilometre procession in Bhagalpur is scheduled as part of these observances.
