Speeding Bus Kills Motorcyclist in Bharatpur Road Accident

A tragic road accident in Bharatpur district, Rajasthan, claimed the life of a young man this morning. A speeding private bus, traveling on the wrong side of the road, collided head-on with a motorbike rider, resulting in his immediate death. The bus driver fled the scene after the accident. Police have registered a case and are searching for the absconding accused.

How the Accident Happened

The incident occurred around 8:30 AM on Friday on Hanuman Nagar Road in Bharatpur city. Rahul Sharma, 23, a resident of nearby Khushalpura village, was on his motorcycle commuting to his job at a private firm in Bharatpur city. As he approached a bend near Hanuman Nagar, a speeding private bus came from the opposite direction on the wrong side of the road and directly hit his bike.

According to eyewitnesses, the bus was traveling at a high speed and disregarded traffic rules by driving on the wrong side of the road. The impact threw Rahul and his bike onto the road, causing him to suffer severe head injuries. People at the scene immediately informed the police and an ambulance, but Rahul succumbed to his injuries before help arrived.

Family Grieves

Rahul was the sole breadwinner for his family. He lived with his two sisters and parents. The news of his death devastated the family. His mother wept inconsolably, and his sisters fainted. The village is in mourning, and residents have demanded strict action from the administration. The police arrived at the scene and seized the bus, "Shriram Travels." The driver escaped after the accident.

The Kotwali police station has filed a case against the unknown driver under sections 279 (rash driving), 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code and 134A of the Motor Vehicles Act. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area and attempting to identify the driver.

Local Outrage and Protest

Following the accident, local residents expressed their anger and staged a protest, blocking the road for about an hour with the victim's body. They alleged that private buses frequently speed on this road and that there is no monitoring by traffic police. During the protest, people demanded a crackdown on wrong-side driving and the installation of speed breakers at the accident site.

The Bharatpur SP has assured that the matter is being taken seriously and that the driver will be arrested soon and legal action will be taken. The Municipal Corporation is preparing a proposal to improve traffic in the area.
