Bhiwadi Sextortion and Honey Trap Gang Busted, Three Arrested Red-Handed

Sextortion gang busted in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan; 26-year-old Arfina alias Simran and two male accused arrested. Police caught the culprits red-handed while extorting money from the victim.

Alwar: A sextortion and honey trap gang has been busted in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan. Jeroli police station arrested 26-year-old Arfina alias Simran and her two male associates, 19-year-old Rashid and 28-year-old Zishan, in this case. The accused had already extorted lakhs of rupees from the victim, and the police apprehended them red-handed, exposing the crime.

According to the police, the gang members would first attempt to lure the victim, Umar Mohammad, by calling him. Subsequently, they would trap him in a hotel, create videos and photos, and then blackmail him, demanding money and property.

How Sextortion Gangs Trap Victims

The modus operandi of the accused caught in Bhiwadi was identical to that observed in the gang apprehended in Sikar. The gang uses sweet talk, romantic calls, and the temptation of meeting in person to ensnare their victims.

Police stated that Arfina trapped the victim despite his initial refusal. The accused took him to Baghaur and housed him in a hotel in Firozpur Jhirka. There, with the help of the hotel manager, photos and videos of the victim were created. Following this, he was intimidated and threatened, and 15,000 rupees, a vehicle worth 14,000, and 9,000 rupees were transferred from the victim's phone.

Police Investigation and Action

After receiving information about the incident, Jeroli police station arrested the accused through a honey trap on October 8. The Superintendent of Police stated that the gang members had already extorted 3 lakh rupees from the victim and had demanded up to 50 lakh rupees from him.

Police have registered a case against the accused under sections related to fraud, blackmail, and other relevant charges. Furthermore, it was stated that since the culprits were caught red-handed, their network is also being investigated.

Honey Trap Strategy Similar to Sikar Case

Last month, two women, including Renuka Chaudhary, the mastermind of a honey trap gang, were arrested in Sikar. The Bhiwadi case indicates that this gang is active in Rajasthan and people need to remain vigilant.

Experts suggest that in such cases, both online and offline vigilance is crucial. Caution should be exercised when receiving unknown calls, sweet talk, or sudden offers to meet.
