The Bihar government has taken a historic decision to set the application fee for all government recruitment exams in the state at just ₹100. There will be a fee of ₹100 for the Preliminary Test (PT) and no fee for the Main examination. This step has been taken to reduce the financial burden on candidates and make preparation for government jobs easier.
Patna: The Bihar government has decided to set the application fee for all recruitment exams in the state at just ₹100. This decision was taken after the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, approved the proposal of the General Administration Department. Candidates appearing for the Preliminary (PT) examination will pay only ₹100, while there will be no fee for the Main examination. This decision provides significant financial relief for students preparing for government jobs.
Changes in Application Fee
Under this new decision, candidates appearing for preliminary competitive examinations conducted by various recruitment agencies in Bihar, such as the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC), Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC), Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission, and Central Selection Board of Constable (SSC/CSP), will only have to pay an application fee of ₹100.
Previously, the application fee was sometimes a financial burden for candidates, and many eligible candidates were unable to participate in the competition. Now, this nominal fee will provide equal opportunities for all candidates and make preparation for government jobs in the state more accessible.
Fee Waiver for Mains Examination
The state cabinet also decided that no fee will be charged from candidates who pass the preliminary examination to appear in the main examination. This means that all eligible candidates appearing for the Mains examination can participate in the examination free of charge. This step will prove particularly beneficial for students from economically weaker sections.
Officials state that the aim of this change is not only to reduce the application fee but also to make the government recruitment process in Bihar more transparent and provide equal opportunities. The nominal amount of ₹100 prescribed for the preliminary examination will only be part of the application process, which will ensure that the examination is conducted smoothly and fairly.
Chief Minister's Announcement
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had informed about this scheme last week through social media and various other channels. He stated that there would be a fee of only ₹100 for the preliminary examination in all government recruitment exams in the state. Also, candidates who pass the preliminary examination will not have to pay any kind of fee in the Mains examination.
The main objective of the state government behind this decision is to provide government job opportunities to the youth and reduce the economic barriers to participating in competitive examinations. This step by the Chief Minister will prove to be a relief, especially for students from rural areas and economically weaker sections.
