Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Urges Dialogue with India Amidst Rising Tensions

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has appealed for talks with India during his Brussels visit. He believes that all disputes between the two countries can only be resolved through dialogue.

Pakistan: Following recent tensions with India and increasing international isolation, Pakistan is experiencing internal shifts. After Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also appealed for talks with India. During his Brussels visit, he stated that all disputes can only be resolved through mutual dialogue.

Indications of a Shift in Pakistan's Policy

Recent strained relations with India and global pressure are leading to a significant shift in Pakistan's foreign policy. Previously exhibiting an aggressive stance, Pakistan is now advocating for peaceful dialogue. The appeals for talks with India from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and now PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari clearly signal this change.

Bilawal Bhutto's Appeal for Dialogue

Pakistan's former Foreign Minister and current PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, recently expressed a desire for talks with India in an interview in Brussels. He stated that all disputes between India and Pakistan can only be resolved through a "comprehensive dialogue".

Bilawal emphasized that both countries should look towards the future and resolve mutual problems through peace and diplomacy.

Interview with DW Urdu in Brussels

Bilawal Bhutto, while being interviewed by the German media organization DW Urdu in Brussels, clearly stated that Pakistan desires peaceful and constructive dialogue with India. This interview came during his European tour leading a Pakistani parliamentary delegation.

He stated, "If India is not ready for talks, it will be detrimental to India itself. We want to resolve problems through dialogue, not war or confrontation."

Pakistan's International Strategy

Bilawal's statement comes at a time when Pakistan is facing continuous criticism on the global stage regarding issues like terrorism, security, and human rights. India's strengthening international relations in recent years has weakened Pakistan's image.

In light of this, the current Pakistani government and diplomatic leadership are now employing a "damage control" strategy abroad. Similar to India, it is now attempting to strengthen its position by sending delegations to global forums.
