Bihar Election 2025: A major meeting of the BJP was held in Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah before the Bihar Assembly elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a significant meeting of the BJP in Delhi ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. The meeting was attended by both Deputy CMs of Bihar, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Sinha, along with party's state in-charge Vinod Tawde and several other senior leaders. Seat sharing in Bihar and the strategy for the upcoming assembly elections were discussed in the meeting.
It is being reported that seat sharing this time is a bit complicated because last time most of the seats were divided between the BJP and JDU, but this time Chirag Paswan and other allied parties are also included. Demographics, past electoral performance, and regional equations were discussed in the meeting for seat selection.
Jitan Ram Manjhi's Demand
During the meeting, former Chief Minister of Bihar and chief of Hindustani Awam Morcha, Jitan Ram Manjhi, clearly stated that if the NDA has sympathy for them, they should be given at least 20 seats. He said that the common people and his party workers also demand that they get seats that can maintain their dignity. Manjhi also said that if the NDA wants to give recognition to his party, HAM should be given a minimum of 20 seats in the upcoming assembly elections.
Meeting of Opposition Parties in Patna
Meanwhile, preparations by opposition parties are also ongoing. Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav called a meeting of party MLAs, where seat sharing and electoral strategy for the Grand Alliance were discussed. The aim of the meeting was to ensure that balance is maintained within the alliance and the interests of all parties are protected.
Probable Dates and Seat Distribution for Bihar Assembly Elections
The elections for the 243 assembly seats in Bihar are likely to be held in October-November 2025. The main contest in this election is between the NDA and the Grand Alliance. In the NDA, the BJP and JDU are planning to contest from more than 100 seats each in their respective regions. HAM, LJP, and other allied parties are also demanding seats. It is also essential for the Grand Alliance to maintain balance in seat distribution.
