BJP Launches "Mission 2029" in Haryana, Targeting Lost Seats

BJP Launches

BJP has started preparations for Mission 2029 in Haryana. 12 ministers and 30 MLAs have been appointed as in-charges of the 42 lost seats. This has increased the pressure on Congress.

BJP Mission 2029: After returning to power for the third time in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has now started preparing for Mission 2029. The party has appointed 12 ministers and 30 MLAs as in-charges of 42 lost assembly seats in the state, formulating a new strategy for these areas. This strategy is making Congress uncomfortable, as it has not been able to work in an organized manner in the state so far.

Why has the BJP started preparing so early?

The BJP knows that maintaining a b hold at the ground level is essential for political success. With this objective, the party has taken steps to strengthen the assembly seats where it faced defeat last time. Efforts will be made to connect with the public on these seats through local development, public relations, and promotion of government schemes.

Why were the Chief Minister and Speaker kept out?

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan have been kept separate from this campaign. The Chief Minister has the responsibility of the entire state, while the post of Assembly Speaker is constitutional, so they have not been given the responsibility of any one area.

Why was Anil Vij not given responsibility?

Haryana government's most senior minister and seven-time MLA Anil Vij has also been kept out of the responsibility of the lost assembly constituencies. This decision has become a topic of discussion in political circles because, considering his organizational hold and administrative experience, his name is considered suitable for responsible positions.

Why is Congress worried?

A major problem with the Congress is that it has not been able to work in an organized manner in Haryana for the last 11 years. Rahul Gandhi had recently given time till June 30 to form the organization during his Chandigarh visit, but no concrete progress has been made even in August. Mutual disputes among state-level leaders have weakened the Congress, which benefited the BJP in the 2024 assembly elections, and it came to power for the third consecutive time.

How is BJP working?

The BJP's strategy is not limited to just election preparations. The ministers and MLAs who have been given responsibility are focusing on the following tasks:

  • Better implementation of state and central government schemes
  • Regular contact with the local public
  • Coordination with key leaders of the area
  • Ensuring public meetings with the Chief Minister and party leadership
  • Prioritizing grassroots issues

Assembly seats may be expanded

The delimitation of assembly seats in Haryana is yet to be done. Currently, there are 90 seats in the state, which can be increased to 126. If this happens, the party's activity in the lost areas can play an important role in future elections. That is why these areas are being focused on right now.

Special attention in influential areas

Some seats like Rohtak, Sirsa, Ellenabad and Garhi Sampla Kiloi have been chosen under a special strategy because these areas are influenced by veteran Congress leaders like Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Omprakash Chautala and Randeep Surjewala. The BJP has appointed experienced ministers as in-charges in these areas so that the influence of the opposition can be reduced.

BJP's focus on Bhupinder Hooda's seat

Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda is an MLA from Garhi Sampla Kiloi. The BJP has given the responsibility of this seat to Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma. Not only this, a special strategy has also been made for Kaithal, which is influenced by Randeep Surjewala, Sirsa, which is influenced by Omprakash Chautala, and Adampur, the traditional seat of the Bhajanlal family.

Old families join BJP

Many members of families who have made a major contribution in the political history of Haryana have now become a part of the BJP. Kiran Choudhary, Shruti Choudhary, Kuldeep Bishnoi and Bhavya Bishnoi from the Bansilal and Bhajanlal families have joined the BJP. This is part of the BJP's strategy to weaken the traditional politics of the opposition.

Backward card in Nuh

In Nuh district, which is a Muslim-majority area, the BJP has tried to balance the social equations by making leaders from backward classes as in-charges. This clearly indicates that the BJP is working on a plan to win over every section of the state.

Planning till 2029, implemented now

The BJP has made it clear that it is working keeping in mind not only the present but also the future of politics. It has only been nine months since the government was formed in the state, but by making a plan for Mission 2029, the party has given the message that election preparations should not be started at the last minute, but from day one.
