BJP Plans Statewide Marches in Uttar Pradesh Ahead of 2027 Assembly Elections

The BJP will organise marches in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Bareilly and Ghaziabad from November 3 to 5 under its ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned a series of marches across Uttar Pradesh under its ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ campaign ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections. The campaign will run from November 3 to 5 across several cities, beginning in Lucknow on Tuesday. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary and Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak will participate in the Lucknow programme.

The BJP’s first major programme under the campaign will take place in Lucknow on November 3. The march will begin at Lok Bhavan and proceed towards Parivartan Chowk. According to the local schedule, the programme is scheduled to start at 11 am.

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend the march as the chief guest. He will be accompanied by Uttar Pradesh BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh.

The party has assigned responsibilities to its workers and office-bearers for the event. The BJP claims that more than 30,000 people may participate in the Lucknow march. Apart from party workers, traders, lawyers, representatives of social organisations and members of other sections of society are also expected to take part.

The BJP has named the campaign ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’. The party alleges that the politics of the Congress and other opposition parties is damaging the democratic system. Through the marches, the BJP intends to take these allegations to the public.

According to Dilip Patel, state general secretary and the campaign in-charge, the party will engage with people over what it describes as the opposition’s political agenda and double standards. BJP leaders have said that the objective of the marches is to present the party’s position before the public and raise questions about the functioning of opposition parties.

The allegations against the opposition represent the BJP’s political position and should not be treated as established facts.

Following the Lucknow programme, the BJP will organise another major event in Gorakhpur on November 4. Party national president Nitin Nabin and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will participate in the march. State BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary will also be present.

The Gorakhpur programme is expected to include a public meeting alongside the march, as well as interactions with representatives of different sections of society. The party will focus on mobilising workers and strengthening its organisational structure.

Nitin Nabin’s visit to Gorakhpur is also being viewed in the context of the BJP’s preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections. Meetings with party office-bearers and elected representatives have also been scheduled during the visit.

Marches will also be organised in Prayagraj and Kanpur on November 4. Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya will lead the programme in Prayagraj, while Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak will play a prominent role in the Kanpur event.

Through these programmes, the BJP aims to increase its outreach among party workers and the public across different regions of Uttar Pradesh. The party has also involved its regional organisational units in preparations for the events.

A separate programme is also planned in Bareilly, with the participation of senior leaders, including Union Minister JP Nadda and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary.

As part of the campaign, the BJP plans to organise a march in Ghaziabad on November 5, which will be attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The programme in western Uttar Pradesh is also part of the party’s statewide strategy.

Uttar Pradesh is scheduled to hold Assembly elections in 2027. Against this backdrop, the marches are linked to the BJP’s political and organisational preparations ahead of the polls. The party plans to present its position on opposition politics while deploying senior leaders across different regions to connect with workers.

Participation in these programmes and the addresses delivered by party leaders will be among the key aspects of the campaign.
