CBSE has issued an important notice regarding the Board Exam 2025. A 75% attendance is mandatory for students of classes 10th and 12th. Relaxation will be given in some special circumstances.

CBSE Notification: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a very important notice for students of classes 10th and 12th. In this notice, the board has clarified that a minimum attendance of 75 percent is mandatory for students to appear in the 2025 board examinations. Students who do not meet this criterion will not be allowed to appear in the board examination.

Notice issued on CBSE's official website

This information has been uploaded on the official website of CBSE. Students, parents and school management can view it by visiting cbse.gov.in. Through this notice, the board has expressed seriousness regarding the regular attendance of students.

Why the importance of attendance has increased

CBSE believes that regular attendance of students in school is necessary not only from the point of view of exam preparation, but also for their overall personality development. Regular attendance in class not only improves the academic level of students but also provides them with opportunities to develop discipline, time management and social skills.

Who can get relaxation

However, the board has also clarified that students can be given a relaxation of maximum 25 percent in some special circumstances. This relaxation will be given only in the following circumstances:

  • Medical Emergency
  • Participation in national or international sports competitions
  • Serious family or personal reasons

Relaxation in these circumstances will be given only when the student provides the relevant documents and certificates to the school and board on time. For example, if a student has been suffering from a prolonged illness, he/she will have to provide a certified report from the doctor.

Special responsibility given to schools

CBSE has given clear instructions to all affiliated schools to monitor the attendance of students and send the report of students whose attendance is less than 75 percent to the board on time. The board has also said that cases of deficiency in attendance will not be accepted after the last date.

Emphasis on adopting digital attendance system

The board has also suggested that schools adopt a digital attendance system so that the record of students' attendance can be kept in a transparent and secure manner. This will avoid disputes and misunderstandings in the future.

What is important for students to know

  • Students will have to attend school regularly throughout the year.
  • It will be necessary to give a valid reason and proof before taking leave.
  • If there is any special circumstance, inform the school and board about it in time.
  • 75% attendance for appearing in the board exam will be calculated till January 1, 2025.
