CBSE announces CTET 2026 exam dates and shifts for February 7 and 8

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the examination dates and shifts for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2026. The examination will be conducted on 7 and 8 February 2026 in two shifts across examination centres nationwide.

According to the schedule, Paper 2 will be held in the morning shift and Paper 1 in the afternoon shift on both days. The morning shift for Paper 2 will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, while the afternoon shift for Paper 1 will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Each paper will have a duration of two hours and 30 minutes.

CBSE stated that the examination is being conducted over two days and in two shifts due to an increase in the number of candidates. The board said this arrangement is intended to ensure better management and convenience for candidates.

The examination is for candidates seeking eligibility to become teachers for Classes 1 to 8. CBSE has advised candidates to follow the instructions provided on the admit card and in official notices.

The board has also instructed candidates to check the examination centre and reporting time mentioned on the admit card in advance. CBSE said that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination centre after the examination has begun and advised candidates to report at least one hour before the scheduled start time.

CBSE has cautioned candidates to avoid rumours and rely only on information published on its official website. All necessary instructions will be available on the admit card and through official notifications.
