Chhattisgarh Accident: A tragic road accident occurred in the Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh early Friday morning, resulting in the deaths of five laborers and serious injuries to four others. The accident took place when a borewell drilling truck, en route from Madhya Pradesh, lost control and plunged into a ravine near Chata village. A total of nine people, who were working as laborers, were on board the truck.
When and Where the Accident Occurred
The incident happened early in the morning near Chata village in the Kundur police station area of Kabirdham district. According to reports, the truck was transporting borewell drilling equipment and laborers from Madhya Pradesh. There is speculation of high speed or a technical fault, as the truck suddenly went out of control and fell into the ravine, overturning in the process.
Three Laborers Died on the Spot
The accident was so severe that three laborers died on the spot. With the help of local villagers and the police, the other six injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Two more laborers succumbed to their injuries during treatment. The condition of the remaining four laborers admitted to the hospital is reported to be critical.

Additional SP of Kabirdham district, Pushpendra Singh Baghel, has confirmed the accident. Police said that the process of identifying the deceased is underway. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and statements of the injured are being recorded. Preliminary investigations suggest the possibility of brake failure or the driver falling asleep, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
