Continuous heavy rains since Thursday have made the situation extremely critical in the mountainous areas near Lanzhou city. According to government media reports, at least 10 people have died and 33 are missing.

Due to severe rainfall, electricity and telecommunication services in the Xinglong mountainous region have been completely disrupted. Approximately 4,000 people in four villages in this area are trapped in floodwaters. Despite obstacles in relief and rescue operations, the administration and relief teams are working to bring the situation under control.

Amidst this crisis, President Xi Jinping has ordered the local administration and national disaster management agencies to conduct immediate and effective relief operations.
