China has opposed the US threat of military action against Nigeria. Trump had accused Nigeria of persecuting Christians. China stated that it supports Nigeria's sovereignty and right to self-determination.

World News: China has opposed the threat of military action against Nigeria made by US President Donald Trump. Trump had accused the Nigerian government of persecuting Christians in the country. Beijing stated that the Nigerian administration is advancing the country according to its own conditions and it will stand with them.

China Expresses Opposition

Amidst the trade war, China has opposed the US stance. US President Trump recently stated that if the Nigerian government continues to permit the killing of Christians, the US would immediately halt all aid to Nigeria and, if necessary, might take military action. In response, China stated that it opposes any country interfering in the internal affairs of other nations under the pretext of religion or human rights.

China's Foreign Ministry Statement

When asked about the US threat, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that the Nigerian Foreign Ministry had already issued a statement clarifying that the US allegations do not reflect the current situation in the country. She added that the Nigerian government is committed to fighting terrorism, promoting religious harmony, and protecting the lives and rights of all its citizens.

China Offers Support to Nigeria

Mao Ning stated that China, as a comprehensive strategic partner, supports the Nigerian government. She reiterated that China opposes any country interfering, imposing sanctions, or threatening the use of force in other countries under the pretext of religion or human rights.

China's Clarification on Venezuela

Regarding reports of Venezuela requesting missiles and drones following US attacks, Mao Ning stated that China opposes the use of force under the guise of combating drug trafficking. She added that China hopes the US will conduct normal law enforcement and judicial activities within bilateral and multilateral legal frameworks. However, she did not explicitly comment on whether China would provide military equipment to Venezuela.
