Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has clarified that the successful organization of the upcoming Kumbh Mela is the state government's top priority. He warned officials, stating that if vigilance and transparency are not maintained in the work, action will now be taken "not against small fish, but against crocodiles."

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, giving a clear message to administrative officials and departmental staff, stated that no form of negligence or corruption will be tolerated during the Kumbh Mela 2025. He sternly said, "Action will now be taken not against small fish, but against crocodiles." The Chief Minister's statement comes amidst ongoing Kumbh Mela preparations in the state, where complaints regarding the quality and delays of several construction works are surfacing.

Dhami made it clear that the Kumbh Mela is the Uttarakhand government's highest priority, and any laxity in its organization will directly lead to accountability.

Kumbh Mela 2025: Government's Priority and Strict Monitoring

On Friday, Chief Minister Dhami addressed a program organized at Rodi Belwala in Haridwar to mark the completion of 25 years since the state's formation. During this, he stated that the Kumbh Mela is not just a religious event, but a test of Uttarakhand's culture, faith, and administrative capability. He added that complaints received regarding the construction of some new ghats are concerning.

'If any officer or contractor has ignored standard procedures, they should decide for themselves where they want to go. Those who work responsibly will be honored; those who are negligent will face strict punishment.'

Dhami instructed all departmental officials to visit sites, ensure the quality of work, and complete all projects within the given timeline.

CM Dhami's Emphasis on Quality and Accountability

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government is giving top priority to quality and transparency in every project. He stated that during a global event like the Kumbh Mela, Uttarakhand's image will be projected across the country and the world, hence vigilance is essential at every step. He added, "We want to take Uttarakhand to new heights of development. For this, we must work responsibly. The convenience of millions of devotees attending the Kumbh Mela is our primary responsibility."

During the program, the Chief Minister also made a major announcement regarding the ropeway project connecting Maa Mansa Devi Temple and Maa Chandi Devi Temple. He stated that this service is going to start soon. Dhami said, "The complete blueprint for the ropeway service is ready. This project will bring great relief to devotees and tourists. Now, people will be able to easily reach Maa Chandi Devi Temple from Maa Mansa Devi Temple using the ropeway service."

It is noteworthy that the idea for this project is nearly a decade old, but until now, it has only existed on paper. The Chief Minister indicated that all technical and financial obstacles have been removed, and work will commence soon.

New Resolve for Development on State's 25th Anniversary

During the program, Chief Minister Dhami described Uttarakhand's 25th Foundation Day (Silver Jubilee Year) as a "year of new resolutions." He stated that the government is moving forward with transparent administration and a development-oriented approach in every sector. He added that in the coming years, the state will be established as a center for economic self-reliance, tourism, industry, and religious faith.
