Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has taken a strict stance on delays in government projects, instructing all departments to submit reports by the 29th. Monthly review meetings will be held, and instructions have been given to remove obstacles.
Delhi News: CM Rekha Gupta has taken a serious view of the delays occurring in various projects underway in the state. She has instructed all Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries to mandatorily submit progress reports on the respective schemes and projects to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) by the 29th of each month. Furthermore, she has made it clear that necessary steps should be taken swiftly to identify and remove obstacles hindering the projects.
Monthly Review Meetings to be Held
According to an order issued by the CM's office, a review meeting will now be held with all ministers on the last day of every month. In this meeting, the status of the projects, the difficulties in their implementation, and the accountability of the concerned departments will be determined. This initiative is being seen as a new step towards administrative reform and transparency in governance.
CM to Personally Conduct Reviews
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will now personally monitor these matters and will directly intervene and make decisions when needed. She has clarified that all departments involved in governance must provide timely information on the progress of their schemes, obstacles, and necessary cooperation. This step has been taken with the aim of further strengthening the government's hold and accelerating government work.
Changes and Strictness in the Reporting System
Under the new order, each department will now have to prepare a consolidated monthly report and send it to the CMO. This report should clearly state the achievements of the departmental schemes, the status of ongoing activities, and the points where problems persist. It should also state what efforts have been made so far to resolve the problems.
Emphasis on Inter-Departmental Coordination
In the reporting system, it has been specifically stated that if more than one department has a role in the implementation of a scheme or project, then what is the status of mutual coordination and where is the obstacle arising. This will strengthen inter-departmental cooperation and simplify and expedite the decision-making process.
Extension of Previous Instructions
A similar order was also issued by the CM's office in April, but it has now been further expanded. With this new order, the Chief Minister's intention is clear that she will not tolerate any unnecessary delay in any development work.
Progress Review with Ministers Every Monday
CM Rekha Gupta holds meetings with her ministers every Monday to discuss the progress of schemes and programs. The new order further strengthens this monitoring system. Under this, departments will now have to report on a monthly basis, which will allow the Chief Minister and her office to better monitor the direction and progress of the schemes.
What will be included in the report?
The report will include the following key points:
- Name and objective of the plan/project
- Progress Summary to date
- Existing obstacles and problems
Monitoring to Accelerate the Pace of Schemes
Government-related officials and planners believe that this monitoring mechanism will increase transparency in कामकाज (functioning), fix accountability, and accelerate the pace of important schemes. It is also expected that this process will prevent unnecessary delays in the implementation of development schemes.
