The Congress has begun strategic deliberations at the central level for its Mission 2029 preparations, with discussions focused on electoral strategy, organisational expansion and issues related to voter lists.
The All India Congress Committee held a central-level meeting attended by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, KC Venugopal, presidents of various Pradesh Congress Committees and presidents of the party’s frontal organisations. The discussions focused on strengthening the organisation for upcoming elections and making party activities more effective at the grassroots level.
The meeting reviewed the current organisational position, electoral strategy for upcoming elections and campaigns related to public-interest issues. The party discussed measures to strengthen its organisational structure from the booth to the panchayat level and increase the participation of workers.
Jharkhand Congress state president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh presented a report on the activities and progress of the state organisation before the central leadership. He also shared information on organisational expansion and the action plan for the coming period.
The meeting also discussed efforts to expand the organisation to the panchayat level in Jharkhand, activate party workers and link local public-interest issues with party activities. The central leadership was briefed on the current organisational position in the state and its priorities for the next phase.
The meeting included a specific discussion on Jharkhand Congress’s activities related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The state unit briefed the central leadership on the formation of Booth Level Agent-2 (BLA-2) and efforts to activate them.
The party also emphasised continuous monitoring of matters related to voter lists and ensuring that eligible voters are included in the lists. The organisation has been instructed to ensure that workers monitor voter-list-related activities in their respective areas and bring necessary matters to the party’s attention.
Jharkhand Congress said that activities related to the SIR process are being reviewed continuously at the state level. District-level office-bearers and workers have also been asked to remain active on the issue.
In line with directions from the central leadership, the process of organisational changes from the Pradesh Congress headquarters to the district level may also move forward. Further directions from the central leadership on organisational changes are expected after Jharkhand Congress state president Keshav Mahto Kamlesh returns from Delhi.
There is discussion within the party about changes in Congress committees in several districts. District presidents, district in-charges and state office-bearers have been instructed to remain active in organisational work. Responsibilities at some levels may be changed in the coming period to make the organisational structure more effective.
Congress is placing emphasis on the role of grassroots workers as part of its Mission 2029 preparations. The party plans to activate organisational activities at the panchayat and booth levels and increase workers’ participation in local issues.
The Jharkhand state organisation has said that particular attention will be given to public-interest issues and activities related to voter lists. Based on directions from the central leadership, organisational programmes and the process of changes at the district level may be taken forward in the coming period.
