Congress Issues Whip for Key Parliament Debates on Pahalgam Attack and Operation Sindhur

Congress has issued a three-day whip to its Lok Sabha MPs, directing their mandatory presence in the House. Parliament will witness intense discussions on the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindhur.

Congress Whip Monsoon Session: The Monsoon Session of Parliament is now set to witness a major political showdown over national security and foreign policy. The Congress has issued a three-day whip to its Lok Sabha MPs, mandating the presence of all MPs in the House for three consecutive days starting Monday.

Congress Demonstrates Strategic Activity by Issuing Whip

The Congress party has taken this decision in view of the important discussions to be held in Parliament. These discussions, starting Monday, will include sensitive issues such as the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindhur. The Congress believes that the opposition should unite and demand accountability from the government on these issues.

Through the whip, the party is trying to keep all its MPs united and ensure active participation in the discussion. During this period, MPs will not be allowed to be absent under any circumstances.

Operation Sindhur and Pahalgam Attack Become the Focus of Debate

Of the two issues on which special discussion has been agreed upon in Parliament, the first is the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which security personnel were martyred. The second issue is Operation Sindhur, recently conducted by the Indian Navy against the Houthi rebels in Yemen, which demonstrated the strategic capability of Indian maritime security.

A heated debate is expected between the ruling coalition and the opposition on both these issues. The opposition has formulated a strategy to corner the government on these issues related to National Security and Foreign Policy.

Uproar in the First Week of Parliament, Now the Opposition is Serious

The first week of the Monsoon Session of Parliament was mostly marred by uproar. The opposition bly protested against the Special Intensive Revision – SIR of the voter list in Bihar and other issues. Now, the opposition has decided that it will hold a concrete debate on subjects of national importance like Pahalgam and Operation Sindhur.

Government and Opposition Will Face Each Other in the House

These issues will be discussed in the Lok Sabha on Monday and in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. From the government's side, prominent leaders such as Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar are likely to speak. On behalf of the Congress, Deputy Leader Gaurav Gogoi will lead the opposition.

According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may also intervene in this discussion to present his government's strict policy and strategy against terrorism to the country.
