Crackdown Intensifies on Changur's Illegal Land Deals and Conversions in Uttar Pradesh

Action against Changur, implicated in illegal conversions and land scams in Uttar Pradesh, is being consistently intensified. Investigative agencies have made several startling revelations in their investigations so far. The biggest revelation is that Changur purchased land in several districts of the state through foreign funding and then illegally plotted and sold them at high prices. A large number of people are involved in this entire network, following which 351 sub-registrar offices have been brought under investigation.

The administration has taken major action on the plotting being carried out by Changur in Utraula town of Balrampur district. The investigation by the tehsil administration revealed that plotting was being done and sold without declaring the land as populated. Changur, along with his close associates Naveen and Mehboob, were also involved in this illegal business. These people were selling small pieces of land only on the basis of agreements and making huge profits from it.

Joint Action by ATS and ED Creates Panic

The joint investigation by ATS and ED has also revealed that Changur had made Devi Patan Mandal the center of his network, from where both conversion and illegal land business were being operated. According to sources, Changur was not alone in this network. The investigating agencies have sent a list of Changur and his 13 associates to all the registry offices and have sought complete details of the purchase and sale of land in their names.

Those being monitored include names like Mehboob, Neetu alias Nasreen, Sabiha, Naveen, Mohammad Sabroz, Rashid, Ramzan (Gonda), Idul Islam (Nagpur), Rajesh Upadhyay, Sangeeta Devi Upadhyay and Babu alias Waliuddin. All these names have appeared in several suspicious deals, and documents related to illegal funding and conversion are also being investigated through them.

Ban on Illegal Plotting

The administration has immediately banned the ongoing illegal plotting in the Utraula area. Along with this, the work of investigation and survey of these lands has also been started. The administrative teams are focusing particularly on the properties that are related to Changur, Naveen and Neetu alias Nasreen.

Tehsil and intelligence agencies are jointly engaged in intensive investigation of the documents. Officials say that this action will not only stop illegal plotting, but will also expose the big racket of suspicious funding and land business for conversion.
