A Delhi SEM court has ordered Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das to be sent to jail for five days in a case linked to a protest at Jantar Mantar. Police also detained CJP leader Ajinkya Shinde.

Delhi Police has taken Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leaders Ashutosh Ranka, Sourav Das and Ajinkya Shinde into preventive custody in connection with a protest at Jantar Mantar. The three leaders were produced before a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) court on Wednesday morning. Following the hearing, the court ordered that Ashutosh Ranka and Sourav Das be sent to jail for five days. Details of the court's order concerning Ajinkya Shinde were not available.

Delhi Police produced the three CJP leaders before the SEM court after taking them into preventive custody. During the hearing, police alleged that their activities could affect public order and that they had violated previously agreed conditions.

Police argued that the accused had mobilised people for the protest. According to officials, the action was based on allegations of holding a demonstration without permission and violating the conditions of bonds executed to maintain peace. Following the hearing, the court ordered that Ranka and Das be sent to jail for five days.

The case concerns a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. According to police, some CJP members allegedly arrived at the protest site without permission and raised slogans. The demonstrators also demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

According to police sources, an FIR was registered against CJP leaders and other members at the Parliament Street police station following the incident.

The allegations include entering a restricted area without permission, violating the conditions of bonds executed to maintain peace, and obstructing a government official in the discharge of official duties. These are allegations made by the police, and the available information does not establish a final judicial determination on the charges.

CJP legal adviser Ratna Singh shared information about the leaders' detention and the police action in a social media post. According to Singh, Sourav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ajinkya Shinde were brought to the Parliament Street police station in connection with the Jantar Mantar case.

She said the three leaders were taken to the police station in a private van at around 3 a.m. She also said they were scheduled to be produced before the SEM court in the morning and expressed the possibility that they could be sent to judicial custody.

Following the court hearing, an order was issued to send Ranka and Das to jail for five days. The available information does not provide clear details of the court's order concerning Shinde.

Jantar Mantar has long been a venue for political and social demonstrations in Delhi. Demonstrations are subject to rules governing designated locations, permissions and security arrangements.

In this case, police alleged that the protesters had not followed the prescribed procedures and had violated the conditions of previously executed bonds to maintain peace. The police action relates to these allegations.

Ratna Singh, the party's legal adviser, separately shared details of the detention and police action through social media. The allegations, the police's claims and statements from the parties concerned remain matters to be examined through the legal process.
