Delhi Government to Establish 100 New Ayushman Arogya Mandirs Monthly

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta gave a significant gift to the residents of the capital on Friday. She announced that the Delhi government aims to open approximately 100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs every month, ensuring that the public has access to primary healthcare facilities close to their homes.

Delhi News: The Delhi government has announced a new initiative to strengthen the health infrastructure of the capital and provide affordable and quality healthcare services to its citizens. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Friday that the government will open approximately 100 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs every month.

This step has been taken to bring primary healthcare facilities closer to people's homes in the capital. The Chief Minister stated that this will lead to quicker treatment for patients and also reduce the burden on larger government hospitals.

Arogya Mandirs with Modern Facilities

During a meeting, the Chief Minister directed that these centers be developed on large government land parcels, so that emergency halls and additional bed facilities can be made available if needed. She mentioned that typically 100 square yards of land is sufficient, but Arogya Mandirs constructed on larger plots will also offer parking and modern amenities. The government is converting old primary health centers into Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and simultaneously, new buildings are also being constructed rapidly.

The Chief Minister stated that the Central government has provided Rs 2,400 crore for this scheme, ensuring there will be no financial impediments. All departments are jointly procuring medical equipment, medicines, and other necessary supplies so that the centers can function fully from their inauguration day. Staff recruitment is also a priority. Recruitment for doctors, nursing staff, pharmacists, lab technicians, data operators, and multi-purpose health workers has already commenced.

Current Status of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Delhi

Currently, 67 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are operational in Delhi. These centers provide 12 types of health services, which include:

  • Maternal and delivery care
  • Child health and adolescent health
  • Family planning
  • Treatment of communicable diseases
  • TB management
  • Elderly care
  • Eye, ear, nose, and throat examinations
  • Dental and mental health services
  • Emergency medical care and palliative care

Now, these centers will also offer in-house lab testing facilities. Adequate medicines, modern furniture, and clean washrooms will be ensured at each center. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are now becoming a new symbol of trust and health for the people of Delhi. She assured that these centers will completely transform the health infrastructure of the capital, and common people will start receiving treatment at nearby centers before needing to visit hospitals.
