The government's objective is to increase the number of buses to 7,000 by next year, which will make travel even easier in Delhi and NCR. The use of electric buses is being increased in the new bus fleet to protect the environment and develop a clean public transport system in the capital.
With the cooperation of IIT Delhi, bus routes are being reorganized to reduce waiting times and provide better facilities to passengers. New buses are being operated especially in outer areas so that citizens there can also have easier travel.
Passenger Convenience and Route Improvement
The government has stated that new bus queue shelters (bus stops) are being constructed, and passenger convenience will be further enhanced by increasing the number of buses. Dr. Singh said, "We want every citizen in Delhi to have safe, comfortable, and reliable public transport. For this, emphasis is being placed on route improvement, bus fleet expansion, and the use of electric buses." The government believes that this initiative is not only convenient for passengers but will also help reduce pollution in Delhi.
