These Documents Will Be Made on WhatsApp
Under the new scheme, several government services like marriage certificates, caste certificates, birth certificates, and driving licenses will be brought onto WhatsApp. Citizens will be able to directly apply for these documents through WhatsApp, verify them, and also download them.
The government believes that this digital process will not only expedite government work but also effectively curb corruption. It will eliminate the need for people to visit government departments or waste their time.
How the Service Will Work
The WhatsApp Governance platform will feature an AI-powered chatbot that will operate in both Hindi and English. This chatbot will assist users and automate the entire service, also providing information related to all concerned departments.
Initially, 25-30 government services will be integrated into this platform. Other departments will join in the future. It will be linked with Delhi's e-District portal for better coordination and data access.
How People Will Use It
Work is currently underway on the WhatsApp Governance platform, and a launch date has not yet been announced. After the launch, users will be able to initiate the application process by sending a "Hi" message to the chatbot. The chatbot will provide a form that needs to be filled out and uploaded along with necessary documents.
The government states that this entire process will be very simple and user-friendly, allowing citizens to apply for government documents from home.
