A new six-lane highway, stretching 67 kilometers between Bandikui in Rajasthan and Jaipur, has been completed. It’s being developed as part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Once operational, this highway is expected to reduce the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur to just three hours, saving passengers both time and fuel.
Previously, the journey between Delhi and Jaipur took over four hours. However, with the commencement of this highway, travel will be significantly faster and more convenient. This highway will provide relief not only for ordinary travelers but also for the tourism and logistics sectors, and is anticipated to provide a significant boost to regional development.
Two Routes to Travel from Delhi to Jaipur
Passengers traveling on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will no longer experience the same difficulties reaching Jaipur. Previously, after exiting the Behror toll plaza in Dausa district, travelers had to navigate the Jaipur-Agra Highway (National Highway-44), which was consistently plagued by heavy traffic.
This congested section added approximately one and a half hours to the journey, making it longer and less comfortable. However, with the launch of the new four-lane highway constructed by NHAI, there is hope for relief from this issue.
New Highway Set to Open Next Month
Recognizing the persistent traffic congestion and the inconvenience faced by travelers on the Jaipur-Agra Highway, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has completed the construction of a new four-lane highway from Bandikui to Jaipur. This highway will not only alleviate traffic pressure but also shorten the distance between Delhi and Jaipur, making the journey more seamless and rapid.
According to the authority, this new highway will reduce the travel distance by approximately 12 kilometers. Following the completion of the safety inspection process, it will be opened to general traffic next month. Estimates suggest that after the route becomes operational, the journey between Delhi and Jaipur can be completed in just a little over three hours.
