Heavy rain since morning in Delhi-NCR has brought relief from the heat, but waterlogging and heavy traffic jams in many areas have increased people's problems.
Delhi Rain Traffic: The weather in Delhi-NCR (Delhi-NCR) has been cool and pleasant since Tuesday morning. After 9 am, heavy rain started in many areas, which provided relief to people from the intense heat, but the rain also created difficulties on the roads of the capital and surrounding areas.
Waterlogging in many areas of Delhi
Due to heavy rain, waterlogging occurred in many major areas of Delhi. Connaught Place, Kamla Nagar, Zakhira Railway Underpass, and near Minto Bridge were affected by waterlogging, disrupting traffic. At the Zakhira Railway Underpass, waterlogging caused a long traffic jam, and municipal teams were engaged in pumping out the water. However, the water level at Minto Bridge was low, and traffic continued to move normally.
Severe traffic jam on Delhi-Meerut Expressway
The Delhi-Meerut Expressway (Delhi-Meerut Expressway) was most affected by the rain, where long queues of vehicles formed near Akshardham Setu due to waterlogging. Due to heavy waterlogging, vehicles moved at a snail's pace, causing great inconvenience to people going to the office and school buses.
Situation খারাপ in NCR cities too
Heavy rain continued in other NCR cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Sahibabad. Waterlogging occurred in many places in these areas as well, causing trouble for people. In residential colonies of Faridabad and Sahibabad, water accumulated outside and around houses, making it difficult for local residents to move around.
Weather Department Forecast
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the sky will remain cloudy in Delhi-NCR for the next 24 to 48 hours. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius.
People's Problems and Warning
Due to the rain, the possibility of water entering many houses has also increased, especially in areas where the drainage system is weak. The local administration has appealed to people to exercise caution in waterlogged areas and avoid going out unnecessarily.
