Plan to build Mini Secretariats and Cow Shelters in every district of Delhi launched. CM Rekha Gupta directs DMs to expedite land selection and action. The project will benefit both citizens and animals.
Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a crucial meeting via digital means on Tuesday with the District Magistrates of all 11 districts. The meeting emphasized the need for a Mini Secretariat at the district level. Discussions were also held regarding the establishment of Cow Shelters in all districts.
According to the official statement released by the Chief Minister's Office, development plans and several important issues related to Delhi were discussed during the meeting. The establishment of Cow Shelters was a major agenda item.
Why the need for a Mini Secretariat in every district?
During the meeting, Rekha Gupta stated that the problems of the common people should be resolved quickly and easily. Currently, people have to make rounds of different government offices across the city to get their work done. She clarified that having a Mini Secretariat in every district will provide citizens with all the necessary services in one place, saving them time and effort.
Gupta also said that the purpose of the Mini Secretariat is to make administrative work accessible at the district level so that people do not have to go to the main secretariat or other remotely located government offices for small tasks.
Emphasis on the establishment of Cow Shelters
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed all District Magistrates to identify suitable land in their respective districts for the establishment of Cow Shelters. She said that Cow Shelters will not only provide shelter to stray cows but also create opportunities for employment and the dairy products sector for local people.
Gupta stated that this initiative will strengthen animal welfare as well as the environment and the rural economy. In addition, Cow Shelters will also help in maintaining cleanliness and order in the surrounding areas.
Preparation of District Magistrates
After the meeting, the District Magistrates informed that necessary action has been initiated on the instructions related to the establishment of Mini Secretariats and Cow Shelters. Efforts are being made to complete land selection and other administrative formalities soon. The District Magistrates assured that they will give priority to this project and submit a report soon. The Chief Minister emphasized that all DMs should adopt time-bound action and transparent procedures.
Citizens will get direct benefit
With the construction of the Mini Secretariat, government services will be available to citizens in their own district. Whether it is birth and death certificates, revenue-related work, land records, or benefits of social welfare schemes, all facilities will be available in one place. The establishment of Cow Shelters will not only protect animals but also increase the availability of milk and other dairy products. In addition, this step will prove to be economically beneficial for local farmers and people involved in the dairy business.
