Delhi Police Arrests Four More in Tiger Shroff Firing Case, Probe Reveals Alleged Reconnaissance of Bollywood Stars
Delhi Police’s Special Cell has arrested four more people in connection with the firing at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai. According to investigators, the accused had allegedly conducted reconnaissance of several Bollywood actors, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, before changing their alleged plan because of the actors’ security arrangements.
The four newly arrested accused include two men from Haryana’s Sonipat district and two women from Uttar Pradesh. Police allege that the men arranged weapons, which were subsequently delivered to the shooters with the help of the two women.
The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four additional suspects on Tuesday. They have been identified as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, from Sonipat district in Haryana, and Radha, 23, and Babita, 23, from Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, Kunal and Sumit allegedly arranged the weapons, while Radha and Babita helped deliver them to the shooters.
On Monday, police arrested three other accused from Kota in Rajasthan. They were identified as Hrithik from Bihar and Rehan and Phool Singh from Haryana. Investigators are questioning the arrested individuals to establish the alleged conspiracy, the arrangements for weapons and the roles of people connected to the case.
According to police officers associated with the investigation, the accused had travelled to Mumbai with the alleged intention of targeting a prominent film actor. Questioning by the Mumbai Crime Branch and Kota Police reportedly revealed that they had conducted reconnaissance of the movements and residences of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar, among others.
Police said the accused had allegedly been sent to Mumbai about a month earlier. Anil Pandit, who is reportedly linked to the Lawrence gang, was allegedly directing them to target a prominent actor.
Investigators said the accused recorded videos of the actors’ residences and surrounding areas and sent the footage to Pandit. According to police, the accused subsequently changed their alleged plan because the actors had b security arrangements.
Investigating agencies are examining the roles of the individuals involved and the nature of their connections with those who allegedly issued the instructions.
According to details obtained during questioning, the accused gathered information about Tiger Shroff’s routine before allegedly targeting him. They reportedly used the internet and Google to obtain information about his activities.
Investigators said the accused learned that Shroff visited a location to play football on Sunday evenings. They allegedly monitored his movements for approximately seven days and planned to approach him under the pretext of taking a selfie.
According to police, the accused reached the location on Sunday, but the crowd outside the park disrupted their plans. Firing took place during this period. Investigators are examining evidence from the scene and statements made by the accused to reconstruct the sequence of events.
The incident occurred on the evening of October 18 in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to the available information, Shroff was returning in his car after playing football when three men on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at the vehicle.
Shroff was unharmed, while his driver sustained injuries. Reports stated that the actor took his injured driver to hospital in the car.
Police launched an investigation after the incident, with multiple agencies taking action to identify and arrest those allegedly involved. Following the arrests, investigators are examining the alleged conspiracy, the identities and roles of the shooters, and the supply of weapons.
Establishing the contacts among the accused and reconstructing their activities before the shooting remain key aspects of the investigation.
Radha and Babita, among the four people arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell, are accused of helping deliver weapons to the shooters. Police allege that Kunal and Sumit arranged the weapons before they were passed on through the two women.
Investigators have also identified an alleged connection between Kunal and Anil Pandit. Police have described Pandit as being linked to the Lawrence gang. The alleged network had claimed responsibility for the attack on Tiger Shroff.
The allegations against the accused and their purported roles in the network remain subject to verification through the judicial process. Police are questioning those arrested to establish the source of the weapons, the complete supply chain and the alleged motive behind the attack.
Photographs that emerged after the firing incident showed marks of injury and bandages on Shroff’s body. His right arm was bandaged from the elbow to the hand, while a dressing was also visible on his chest.
However, photographs taken during a meeting with minister Ashish Shelar on Tuesday showed the actor without bandages. The images indicated an apparent improvement in his condition, although detailed information about his medical status was not provided.
With further arrests in the Tiger Shroff firing case, police are continuing to investigate the alleged conspiracy, the contacts among the accused and the supply of weapons. Investigators are also examining claims that the accused had conducted reconnaissance of other potential targets in Mumbai.
The alleged reconnaissance of Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar forms part of the disclosures reported during the investigation.
