A tragic and sensational incident unfolded in Safidon town of Jind district, Haryana, on Thursday night. Dr. Vikas Sharma, son of former BJP Mandal President Shiv Kumar Sharma and a well-known physician in the area, was brutally murdered by being stabbed multiple times. The incident occurred around 11 pm on Rampura Road when Dr. Vikas was returning home with two of his doctor colleagues after taking a stroll.
A wave of anger has swept across the entire area following the incident. People have given the police and administration a 24-hour ultimatum: if the murder is not quickly solved and the culprits arrested, they will take to the streets to protest.
Unknown Assailants Surrounded and Attacked
Dr. Vikas was passing through Rampura Road in Safidon with his two companions when unknown assailants stopped them. A minor argument ensued, and then suddenly, the attackers launched a relentless knife attack. Dr. Vikas sustained severe injuries in the attack. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Panipat, but doctors declared him dead. His two fellow doctors were also injured in the attack and are receiving treatment.
The police have registered a case of murder and started an investigation, but so far, no clues about the murderers have been found. This horrific incident has shaken not only the doctor community but also the entire district.
Rising Crime Amidst Public Outcry
Since the incident, local residents and the family of the deceased have been extremely angry. They have given the administration an ultimatum, stating that if the accused are not caught within 24 hours, they will block the roads in Safidon and protest. The family members of the deceased have also accused the police of negligence and demanded impartial and swift action.
It is noteworthy that this is the 17th murder in Jind district in the past month. The continuous increase in crime has created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity among the public. This murder has raised serious questions about the law and order situation under the administration.
