Matt Renshaw faced 397 balls and hit 21 fours and one six during his innings. He was unbeaten on 46 at the close of play on the first day. On the second day, he continued his innings, completed his half-century and went on to register his second Test century. He fell 10 runs short of a double century.

Australia had lost six wickets for 124 runs at one stage. Renshaw helped increase the team's total through partnerships with the lower-order batters, including captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon.

134-Run Partnership with Nathan Lyon for the Ninth Wicket

Renshaw and Nathan Lyon added 134 runs for the ninth wicket. Renshaw contributed 100 runs to the partnership, while Lyon scored 27.

When Lyon came to the crease, Australia were eight wickets down for 230 runs. Their partnership helped the team reach 390. Lyon was dismissed leg before wicket off Marco Jansen's bowling. Renshaw then added 26 runs with Josh Hazlewood for the final wicket.

Pat Cummins Scores 43 Runs

Australia captain Pat Cummins scored 43 runs. He had been unbeaten on 33 at the end of the first day and added another 10 runs on the second day before being dismissed by Wiaan Mulder. Aiden Markram took the catch.

Cummins and Renshaw shared an 86-run partnership for the seventh wicket. After Cummins was dismissed, Mitchell Starc came to the crease but managed only six runs before being bowled by Mulder.

Wiaan Mulder Takes Four Wickets

Wiaan Mulder was South Africa's most successful bowler, taking four wickets. Marco Jansen also claimed wickets as South Africa brought Australia's innings to an end. Anrich Nortje took two wickets, while Simon Harmer claimed one.

South Africa's bowlers had put Australia's top order under pressure during the early stages of the innings. However, the partnerships involving the lower-order batters helped Australia reach 390.

South Africa Finish Day Two at 27/1

After Australia were dismissed for 390 in their first innings, South Africa began their reply but lost an early wicket. Ryan Rickelton was dismissed for a duck by Josh Hazlewood.

At the close of play on the second day, South Africa were 27/1, with Aiden Markram unbeaten on 15 and David Bedingham on 12. Play could not continue because of poor light.

South Africa were 363 runs behind Australia's first-innings total at the end of the second day.
