Maharashtra Politics Updates: Responding to the opposition's 'Satya March,' Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated in Pandharpur on Monday that protest marches do not alter electoral equations, and the public will prioritize development. Shinde was speaking to the media after offering prayers at the Vitthal temple on Kartiki Ekadashi. He said that the public would once again support the Mahayuti alliance in the upcoming local body elections because the government has made numerous decisions in the interest of farmers and common people. He termed the opposition's march merely a political demonstration and asserted that the public would vote based on performance.
Shinde's Dig at the Opposition's March
During his interaction with the media after visiting the Vitthal temple on the occasion of Kartiki Ekadashi in Pandharpur, Eknath Shinde responded to the opposition's 'Satya March.' He stated that protests and rallies do not alter public opinion. According to Shinde, the people of the state prioritize performance, and the government has focused its efforts on development and public welfare.
Shinde asserted that the public had supported the Mahayuti government in the assembly elections, trusting its policies and work. He claimed that this same trust would be reiterated in the upcoming local body elections. According to him, the opposition's march is merely a form of political campaigning that will have no tangible impact on the ground.
Development Agenda and Farmer Relief
The Deputy Chief Minister stated that the Mahayuti government's agenda is clear, with a focus on development and public service. He emphasized that the government has implemented schemes benefiting every section of society. Shinde accused the opposition of merely engaging in protest politics and disregarding development issues.
Regarding farmer issues, Shinde informed that a relief package of Rs 32,000 crore has been released for farmers affected by rains. He stated that this amount was deposited into farmers' accounts before Diwali. Furthermore, the committee reviewing agricultural loan waivers will submit its report next April, and a final decision will be made by June 30.
Confidence in Mahayuti's Electoral Victory
Eknath Shinde stated that the public in the state evaluates the government based on its schemes and performance. He claimed that public trust in the Mahayuti alliance remains steadfast and this will be evident in the upcoming local body elections. According to Shinde, the state's politics is now progressing on issues of development and transparency.
He characterized the opposition's movement as an example of being disconnected from the public. Shinde stated that the government is actively engaged with the people and is continuously working, hence protest rallies will not influence public opinion. He advised the opposition to focus on public interest rather than negative politics.
