A father abducted his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. The incident was captured on CCTV. An ongoing family dispute between the parents is cited as the reason. Police have started an investigation.
Jhunjhunu: A shocking case has emerged in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, where a father abducted his own two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Vanshika. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Jamaat Mohalla, Ward No. 56, Rani Sati Road. The child was playing outside the house when her father, Hemant Soni, arrived, picked her up, and fled. The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed at the house.
Kotwali Station Officer Harjinder Singh stated that the victim, Akanksha Soni, has filed a case of abduction against her husband, Hemant Soni. The police have activated teams to search for the child.
Abduction Incident Captured on CCTV
At the time of the incident, Akanksha had gone inside for a short while. During this time, Hemant Soni suddenly arrived, picked up the child without any warning, and left.
CCTV footage clearly shows Hemant carrying the child in his arms and walking down the alley. The family tried their best to find the child, but found no clue. It was with the help of CCTV footage that the full extent of the father's abduction was revealed.
Case of Family Dispute
According to information, Akanksha Soni was married to Hemant Soni on November 28, 2022. Domestic disputes began between them soon after the marriage. Akanksha alleges that Hemant often physically abused her and threatened to take the child away.
For the past two years, Akanksha and the child had been living with Akanksha's father, Pawan Kumar Soni, in Jhunjhunu. The abduction of the daughter by the father is believed to be part of this family dispute. The case is currently sub judice.
Police Investigation Efforts
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter. ASI Sant Kumar has been appointed as the investigating officer. Teams have been activated in search of the child. Police have conducted an extensive search operation in the family's residence and surrounding areas.
The Kotwali officer has appealed to citizens that if anyone finds information about the child, they should immediately inform the police. Police are also investigating whether Hemant executed the abduction incident in a pre-planned manner or if it was an opportunistic act.
