Figure AI conducted a 10-hour “Man vs Machine” challenge between its Figure 03 humanoid robot and a company intern to compare package management performance, with the human narrowly outperforming the robot in a package-sorting task.
The robotics startup assigned both participants the task of organizing packages placed on a conveyor belt while ensuring that barcodes remained aligned in the same direction. The challenge continued for 10 consecutive hours, and a video of the event has circulated widely on social media.
According to reports, the human participant sorted a total of 21,924 packages during the challenge, averaging 2.79 seconds per package.

The Figure 03 humanoid robot processed 21,732 packages, with an average processing time of 2.83 seconds per package. The human participant finished ahead by a margin of 192 packages.
Following the challenge, Figure AI Chief Executive Officer Brett Adcock said the result could represent one of the final human victories against robots. He stated that the intern was significantly fatigued after the challenge and experienced serious pain in his hand, while the robot continued operating without interruption. According to Adcock, humanoid robots could surpass humans in performing extended continuous work in the future.
In recent years, the use of humanoid robots in factories, warehouses, and industrial operations has increased. Figure AI said the challenge was conducted as an experiment to compare the practical working capabilities of humans and machines.
