A massive fire broke out at a foam factory in Wajidpur Sabauli Industrial Area, Sonipat, Haryana, on Wednesday. Eight fire engines attempted to control the blaze, and all employees were safely evacuated.
Sonipat: A sudden and intense fire erupted at a foam factory located in the Wajidpur Sabauli Industrial Area of Sonipat district, Haryana, on Wednesday. Goods worth lakhs were reduced to ashes in the factory, but fortunately, all employees were safely evacuated.
Upon receiving information, the fire department dispatched 8 fire engines and a police team to the scene. Efforts to control the fire continued throughout the night, but the intense nature of the blaze made it challenging to contain.
Fire Spread Quickly Due to Foam and Plastic in Factory
According to information, the fire broke out at the Hindustan foam factory. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Foam and plastic products are manufactured in the factory, which caused the fire to escalate rapidly.
Police Constable Vinod Kumar stated that as soon as information was received, the police reached the spot and the fire department was called. The fire department deployed 8 vehicles and a full team of firefighters. Along with safely evacuating the employees, efforts to extinguish the fire were intensified.
Fire Department Controlled the Fire
The fire department reported that the intensity of the fire was so high that it took several hours to bring it under control. Firefighters used a combination of foam and water to try and control the blaze.
The local administration secured the surrounding areas and increased vigilance to prevent any further incidents. Surrounding industries and employees were also instructed to adopt fire safety measures.
Employees Safely Evacuated
Fortunately, all employees were safely evacuated. However, the fire completely destroyed the foam, machinery, and materials stored inside the factory. The financial loss due to the fire is currently being assessed.
The police and fire department stated that the exact cause of the fire will be investigated, and if any negligence or violation of safety standards is found, action will be taken against those responsible.
