A public holiday has been declared in all schools of Gautam Buddh Nagar district on July 23, on the occasion of Mahashivratri. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has issued an order for a holiday for all schools, government offices, and courts in this regard.

School Closed: Important news has come to light for students and parents in Noida. All schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar district will remain closed on July 23, 2025. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the Kanwar Yatra and the potential crowd at Shiva temples on the occasion of Mahashivratri. District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has issued an official order in this regard.

Under this order, all government and private schools in Noida and Greater Noida will have a public holiday on July 23. Schools will reopen regularly from July 24.

Holiday Declared in View of Crowds Due to Kanwar Yatra

On the day of Mahashivratri, devotees of Lord Shiva gather at Shiva temples across the country to offer water. In Gautam Buddh Nagar district too, there is a possibility of heavy crowds at various places during the Kanwar Yatra. Keeping this in mind, the administration has taken this decision as a precaution. District School Inspector Dr. Dharmveer Singh said that information about this decision has been sent to all schools. Schools have been directed to inform students and parents about this in advance so that no one faces any inconvenience.

The administration is very serious about the safety of children studying in government schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. For the first time, preparations are being made to conduct a safety audit of all primary, upper primary, Kasturba Gandhi Girls' Schools, and government secondary schools in the district. This process will be completed under the supervision of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).

Key Points of the Safety Audit

The purpose of this safety audit is to ensure the safety of children in schools so that corrective steps can be taken before any potential accident. The following points will be checked during the audit:

  • Strength of the school building structure.
  • Availability and functionality of fire extinguishers.
  • Safety check of equipment related to electricity supply.
  • Condition of emergency exit doors, windows, and doors.
  • Strength of furniture and its safety for children.
  • Strength of the building's walls, columns, beams, roof, and foundation.
  • The state government has also released a special budget for this so that any shortcomings related to safety can be addressed immediately.

Administration's Appeal: Parents Remain Vigilant, Do Not Send Children to School

After the order issued by the District Magistrate, it has been made clear that no school will remain open on July 23, 2025. Parents have been appealed to not send their children to school and to take precautions. School administrations have also been asked to inform all children and staff about this in advance. In Noida, all schools will reopen as before from July 24, i.e., one day after Mahashivratri, and teaching activities will be conducted normally.
