Sukhbir Badal said that the Akal Takht had given clear instructions that no separate faction should be formed, but despite this, Harpreet Singh, in collusion with disgruntled leaders and anti-Sikh forces, has planned to weaken the Khalsa Panth and the Akali Dal.

Sukhbir Singh Badal further alleged that Harpreet Singh, in collaboration with anti-Punjab central agencies, has attempted to break the unity of Sikhs and reduce the strength of the Akali Dal. He termed this development a serious threat to Punjab's politics and Panthic unity.
