Gold Price Today: MCX Gold Futures Fall as Saturday Trading Remains Closed

Gold Price Today: MCX gold futures and latest IBJA 24-karat gold rates, including previous trading session prices and factors affecting domestic gold prices.

Gold prices continued to fluctuate, with changes in global markets affecting domestic bullion and commodity markets. As a result, gold prices have also been changing.

As Saturday is a non-trading day, regular trading will not take place on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), and the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) will also not release new daily rates. Therefore, prices available from the previous trading session will serve as a reference for buyers today. The final price at jewellery stores may vary depending on the city, taxes, making charges and purity.

In the previous trading session, the October 5 gold futures contract on MCX closed at Rs 1,50,881 per 10 grams, down Rs 181. The gold futures contract for delivery on December 4, 2026, also remained under pressure, closing at Rs 1,53,277 per 10 grams after falling Rs 118. Changes in gold prices in the futures market are an important reference for investors. However, futures prices are not directly equivalent to the final retail price charged at jewellery stores.

According to the latest available data from IBJA, the evening rate for 24-karat gold stood at Rs 1,52,113 per 10 grams. In the morning session, the price was recorded at Rs 1,51,136 per 10 grams.

Gold Price Today: MCX, IBJA Gold Rates and 24 Carat Gold Price

The difference between morning and evening gold rates can result from factors including international market movements, the movement of the US dollar and domestic demand. In addition, making charges and applicable taxes are added when jewellery is purchased, which can result in a different final amount payable by the customer.

The base gold rate serves as an important market reference, but prices offered to customers do not necessarily remain the same across cities. Local demand, jewellers' charges, making costs and other fees can lead to differences in the final price.

Customers buying gold in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Patna, Bhopal, Kolkata or any other city should confirm the prevailing selling price with the local jeweller at the time of purchase. Particularly when buying jewellery, the total cost should not be estimated solely on the basis of the base rate of gold per 10 grams.

Gold prices in international markets are influenced by several economic and geopolitical factors. Movements in the US dollar, expectations regarding interest rates, central bank policies, global tensions, investor demand and international gold prices can affect the domestic market.

In India, the rupee-dollar exchange rate also affects gold prices. If the rupee weakens against the dollar, the cost of imported gold may increase, which can affect domestic prices.
