Google is preparing to add new features to its Gemini chatbot, including 3D AI avatars and the ability to import chats from other chatbots. The Avatar feature is currently in an early development stage and is not available to beta testers.
Google’s Gemini chatbot is set to introduce a new feature called Avatar, which will allow users to create personalised digital avatars. The feature remains in the early stages of development. Gemini will also enable users to import past chats from other chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude. The changes are intended to streamline chat experiences and facilitate faster digital content creation.
The Avatar feature is designed to make content creation more personalised and efficient. Users will be able to use the '@me' command to include themselves in any AI-generated image without repeatedly uploading their photos. It remains unclear whether this feature will be available in video models such as Google Veo.

The feature is expected to assist users who create digital or social media content by enabling quick generation of personalised AI images. Gemini will also provide guides and descriptions to help new users create avatars and use the feature.
Gemini will introduce an option to import chats from other AI chatbots such as ChatGPT and Claude. The process will involve two steps. First, users will generate a prompt in the other chatbot to extract personal information and contextual details.
This information will then be pasted into Gemini, allowing the new chat session to retain the user’s information and context. Users will be able to continue conversations without re-entering data. The feature is designed to save time and improve the user experience.
