Fire broke out in a clothing shop in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, causing panic in the area as flames rapidly spread through the premises and burned large quantities of fabric worth lakhs of rupees. Fire brigade teams were dispatched to the spot and launched firefighting operations.

Around 15 fire brigade vehicles were deployed to control the blaze. Firefighters worked for nearly three hours before bringing the fire completely under control. During the operation, people were kept away from nearby areas as a safety precaution.

Eyewitnesses said thick smoke spread across the locality after the fire broke out, causing panic among residents. People in the vicinity immediately informed the fire brigade and the police, after which relief and rescue operations began.

A large quantity of fabric stored in the shop was reduced to ashes in the incident. A car parked nearby was also engulfed in the flames and was completely destroyed. Preliminary estimates indicate that the incident caused losses amounting to lakhs of rupees.

Police and fire department officials reached the spot and began an investigation. Initial findings suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, though authorities are continuing their inquiry to determine the exact cause.

No casualties have been reported in the incident.
