GST 2.0 Rolls Out: Over 390 Everyday Items Cheaper, Amit Shah Hails It as Navratri Gift

GST 2.0 has been implemented starting today. Home Minister Amit Shah stated that over 390 everyday items have become cheaper. This is a gift of next-generation GST reform for mothers and sisters during Navratri.

New Delhi: From today, the new tax slab for GST (Goods and Services Tax) has been implemented across the country, making many essential everyday items more affordable. The objective of this change is to provide relief to the common man and the middle class, and to increase their savings. Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the countrymen on this occasion and described it as the first step towards fulfilling PM Modi's promise.

A Gift for Mothers and Sisters on Navratri

Amit Shah stated that on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, mothers and sisters have received the gift of next-generation GST reform (GST Reform). Posting on social media platform X, he informed that the Modi government has taken a significant step towards fulfilling its promise to the countrymen.

Amit Shah's Message

The Union Home Minister said, "On the special occasion of Navratri, the Modi government has given all mothers and sisters of the country the gift of next-generation GST reform. The promise Modi Ji made to the countrymen regarding GST has begun to be fulfilled today." He further added that this change is not merely a tax cut, but a step that will bring happiness and relief into the lives of the people.

Everyday Items Become Cheaper

Amit Shah informed that following a historic reduction in GST rates, over 390 items have become cheaper. These include food and household goods, automobiles, materials, agricultural products, toys, sports equipment, educational items, handicrafts, medical supplies, health services, and insurance. He stated that this change will reduce the daily expenses of common people and families, leading to an increase in their savings.

Significance of GST 2.0

In the GST Council meeting on September 3, the central government announced significant relief for the public. The old four tax slabs have been removed, and now there will only be two slabs. Most items will be taxed at 5 percent and 18 percent. Luxury goods, however, will be subject to a 40 percent GST.

Benefits for the Countrymen

Amit Shah stated that after the implementation of the new slabs, happiness will come into the lives of the countrymen. Savings will increase, and the impact of inflation on essential everyday goods will lessen. This will also strengthen the economy (economy) as consumption will rise, and production (production) will be encouraged.

The objective of implementing GST 2.0 is not merely to cut taxes but to economically empower the common public. The Home Minister said that this reform would prove particularly beneficial for farmers, traders, women, and small business owners.
