News of a bridge collapse connecting Vadodara district to Anand in Gujarat has caused a stir. According to initial information, a section of the bridge, built over a river, suddenly collapsed, causing four vehicles to fall into the river below.

Bridge Collapse: A major accident occurred in Vadodara district of Gujarat on Wednesday morning, which shook not only the local administration but the entire state. The Gambhira bridge, built over the Mahisagar River in the Padra area of Vadodara, suddenly collapsed, causing several vehicles passing over it to fall into the river. The incident happened around 7:30 am, and rescue and relief operations have been underway rapidly since then.

Serious Accident, Four Vehicles Submerged in the River

According to eyewitnesses and the police, a large section of the Gambhira bridge suddenly collapsed, causing at least four vehicles to fall directly into the river. These included two trucks and two passenger vans. Due to the quick response of the police and local administration, four people have been rescued safely so far, while the search for others continues.

Padra Police Inspector Vijay Charan informed that some people in the accident vehicles are also seriously injured and have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment. However, it is still unclear how many people were in these vehicles in total.

This Important Bridge was on a State Highway

The Gambhira bridge, which passes over the Mahisagar River on a state highway, is a major route connecting Vadodara to Anand and other areas. This bridge is considered an important link connecting central Gujarat and the Saurashtra region. Therefore, its collapse is not only a human tragedy, but it has also had a deep impact on the economic and traffic systems.

Local people say that this bridge had become quite old and its condition had been a cause for concern for a long time. However, no concrete information has come to light so far regarding the repair or inspection of this bridge.

Administration Takes Charge, NDRF Team Deployed

Immediately after the incident, local administration, fire department, police force, and NDRF teams reached the spot and started rescue operations. The flow of water in the Mahisagar River is b, which is causing difficulties in the rescue operation. The rescue team is searching the vehicles that fell into the river with the help of divers. The District Collector and senior officials of Vadodara are also present at the scene and are constantly monitoring the situation. The affected area has been cordoned off and traffic has been diverted through alternative routes.
