The Gambhira bridge, built over the Mahisagar River in the Padra area of Vadodara, suddenly collapsed, causing several vehicles passing over it to fall into the river. The incident happened around 7:30 am, and rescue and relief operations have been underway rapidly since then.
Serious Accident, Four Vehicles Submerged in the River
According to eyewitnesses and the police, a large section of the Gambhira bridge suddenly collapsed, causing at least four vehicles to fall directly into the river. These included two trucks and two passenger vans. Due to the quick response of the police and local administration, four people have been rescued safely so far, while the search for others continues.
Padra Police Inspector Vijay Charan informed that some people in the accident vehicles are also seriously injured and have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment. However, it is still unclear how many people were in these vehicles in total.

The Gambhira bridge, which passes over the Mahisagar River on a state highway, is a major route connecting Vadodara to Anand and other areas.
