An important announcement has been made for those preparing to go on the Hajj pilgrimage. The Haj Committee of India has initiated the online application process for Hajj 2026. Interested pilgrims can fill out their Hajj application forms from July 7th to July 31st.
New Delhi: If you are planning to go on the sacred Hajj pilgrimage in 2026, this news is very important for you. The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, and the Haj Committee of India have started the application process for Hajj 2026. Interested pilgrims (Hajjis) can apply from July 7, 2025, to July 31, 2025. Applications can be made through the Haj Committee's official website, www.hajcommittee.gov.in, or the Haj mobile app.
Online Process is Mandatory
Ashfaq Ahmad Arfi, Executive Officer of the Delhi State Haj Committee, stated that this year too, the application process will be conducted entirely through digital means. Online registration facilities have also been made available at the office located at the Haj Manzil for pilgrims from Delhi and across the country. Online applications can be made from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
Applicants are required to bring their valid passport (valid until December 31, 2026), Aadhaar card, recent passport-sized photo, and a cancelled check.
Only 7 Embarkation Points for Hajj Pilgrimage
The Hajj 2026 journey will be possible from only 7 selected embarkation points. These are:
- Delhi
- Ahmedabad
- Bangalore
- Chennai
- Cochin
- Kolkata
- Hyderabad
This decision has been taken with the aim of making the Hajj process smoother and more organized. Pilgrims will have to choose the nearest embarkation point for their journey.
Short Term Hajj Option Also Available
This year, a new option has been added – a short-term Hajj pilgrimage. This is for pilgrims who want to travel for a limited time. Under this option, the stay in Madinah Munawwarah will be for only 2 to 3 days. However, an additional fee will be charged for this facility. The choice for a short-term journey can be made in the application form itself.
Age Limits and Special Categories
The following age criteria will apply for applying for Hajj 2026:
- General pilgrims: At least 12 years of age
- Female pilgrims without a Mahram: At least 45 years of age
- Senior Citizen category: 65 years or older
- Children under 12 years of age will not be allowed to go on the Hajj pilgrimage, as was also applicable in Hajj 2025.
Food Options and Cancellation Terms
This time, the food option will also be filled in the form. This will enable the Haj Committee to ensure the arrangement of food according to the preferences of the pilgrims. Pilgrims should keep in mind that the Hajj application form can be canceled only in emergency situations such as death or serious illness. Cancellation for any other reason may result in financial loss. Therefore, only those with firm intentions should apply.
Read the Guidelines Before Applying
Pilgrims are advised to carefully read the Hajj guidelines and declaration forms before applying. These documents contain all the rules related to Hajj, travel conditions, and payment-related information. Guidelines are available in both Hindi and English on the Haj Committee website and app. If you do not have the information, you can seek assistance from the nearest State Haj Committee office.
