Sheetal's Murder: Boyfriend Sunil Arrested
Sheetal Murder Case: The murder of Sheetal, a Haryana-based social media influencer and model also known as Simi Chaudhary, has sent shockwaves throughout the state. Initially reported as a missing person case, the investigation took a dramatic turn upon the discovery of a young woman's body in Sonipat, later identified as Sheetal.
Sheetal Separated After Marriage
Sheetal had been married for several years but lived separately due to marital discord. During this time, she met Sunil Kumar from Panipat, a married man also separated from his family. They had been in contact for the past five years, developing a close emotional and social bond.
Active Social Media Presence
Sheetal, active on social media as 'Simi Chaudhary,' frequently shared photos and videos with Sunil. Those who knew them described them as a couple, often seen traveling together, shopping, and dining out.
Last Seen with Sunil
Sheetal was last seen with Sunil Kumar before her murder. CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts confirmed they were traveling in the same car hours before the incident. This car, registered in Sunil's name, was later found in a Panipat canal.
Body Discovery Confirms Murder
The discovery of Sheetal's body in Sonipat prompted an intensified investigation. Suspicion quickly fell on Sunil. Following interrogation, he confessed to the crime, stating he had stabbed Sheetal to death.
Strained Relationship a Possible Motive?
Police sources believe the couple had a long-standing strained relationship. Sunil reportedly disapproved of Sheetal's growing social media influence and expanding circle of contacts, leading to frequent arguments. It is suspected that a dispute led to the crime in a fit of rage.
Attempt to Conceal Evidence
After the murder, Sunil disposed of the car in a Panipat canal to mislead the police. However, through technical investigation, call records, mobile location data, and CCTV footage, police gathered enough evidence to arrest him.
Pre-planned Murder?
Police officials suggest the murder may have been pre-planned. Anil Kumar, in charge of the Urlana police station in Panipat, stated that inconsistencies were found in Sunil's initial statements. The investigation revealed a knife was used and the crime was committed inside the car.
Judicial Custody and Further Investigation
Police stated that the accused will be presented in court for remand. During the remand period, police will focus on recovering the murder weapon (the knife), verifying the crime scene, and conducting a thorough investigation into the accused's mental state.
The family was inconsolable upon seeing Sheetal's body at Sonipat Civil Hospital. They demanded the strictest possible punishment for the accused, stating that their daughter's trust was betrayed, leading to her death.
