Continuous rainfall in Uttar Pradesh has made the weather pleasant, providing relief from the heat. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for 30 districts. The impact of the rain will decrease from August 26, but waterlogging will continue to cause problems in many places.
Lucknow: The monsoon has once again picked up full speed in Uttar Pradesh. Since Saturday morning, there has been continuous rainfall in several districts, including the capital Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur. Due to this, the weather has become pleasant, and people have found great relief from the sticky heat.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, stating that there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in approximately 30 districts of the eastern and Terai regions today, i.e., August 25. The department has issued a yellow alert, advising people to remain vigilant.
Risk of Heavy Rain in These Districts
The districts under alert include Mathura, Agra, Firozabad, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Gonda, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Deoria, Gorakhpur, and Ballia. There is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning here, due to which the local administration has also asked people in low-lying areas to remain vigilant.
Meanwhile, there is also a possibility of heavy rain in major districts like Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Raebareli, and Prayagraj today, but no serious warning has been issued for these areas.
Temperature Drop Due to Continuous Rain
The continuous rain for the past two days has changed the weather conditions across the state. The temperature has dropped by 3 to 4 degrees, providing relief to people troubled by humidity and heat.
The Meteorological Department says that the pace of rainfall will slow down somewhat from August 26. After that, only light to moderate showers will occur from August 27 to 29. During this period, the temperature may also increase by 2-3 degrees.
Weather Update for Purvanchal and Bundelkhand
In the districts of eastern Uttar Pradesh – Jaunpur, Varanasi, Mau, Sant Kabir Nagar, Mirzapur, and Sonbhadra – there is a possibility of rain in several places today, but there is no alert for lightning or b storms here.
On the other hand, rainfall will be light in districts like Banda, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, and Lalitpur in Bundelkhand. According to meteorologists, normal rainfall is expected in these areas in the coming days.
Waterlogging on Roads Due to Rain
While the rain has brought joy to the faces of farmers, waterlogging and traffic jams are being witnessed in urban areas. Roads and streets in many districts have been flooded with water, causing difficulties for the general public. On the other hand, Kharif crops in rural areas are likely to benefit greatly from this rain.
Rail and road traffic are also being affected by the rain. There are reports of jams and flooding on several routes. In such a situation, passengers are advised to check the latest weather update before traveling.
