Anandpur: A peculiar yet serious incident occurred in Anandpur village of Pilibhit district, Uttar Pradesh. A dispute between a husband and wife over fetching samosas escalated to the point where a village council had to be convened. It is alleged that the wife, Sangeeta, with the help of her family members, instigated an attack on her husband, Shivam. In this violent incident, Shivam sustained severe injuries, and some other relatives from his in-laws' side were also hurt.

Following the circulation of the incident's video on social media, the police promptly registered a case against the accused and initiated an investigation.

Dispute Arose Over Not Bringing Samosas

The incident took place in Anandpur village, under the Sehrapur Uttar police station area. Shivam resides with his wife, Sangeeta. On August 30th, Sangeeta asked her husband to bring samosas, but Shivam did not comply. This led to an argument between the two.

Sangeeta became angry and summoned her family members the next day. The argument intensified, and on August 31st, a village council was called in the presence of the former village head.

Clash Between In-laws and Wife's Family During Council Meeting

During the council meeting, an argument erupted between Shivam's family and Sangeeta's family. Suddenly, Sangeeta's family members attacked Shivam. Shivam was knocked to the ground and beaten with fists and kicks, resulting in his serious injuries.

Shivam's mother, Vijay Kumari, stated that her son was brutally beaten, and some of his relatives were also injured in the scuffle. Villagers present at the council attempted to intervene, but the incident was captured on video and went viral on social media, prompting police action.

Injured Admitted to Hospital

The injured individuals were immediately admitted to the hospital. After receiving primary treatment, they were provided with necessary care. Injured Shivam and other relatives from his in-laws' side are reported to be out of danger.

Prateek Dahiya, CO of Puranpur, Pilibhit, stated that based on the written complaint filed by Vijay Kumari, a case has been registered against all four accused, and an investigation has commenced. The police are in the process of identifying the accused and are preparing to take them into custody.

Video Went Viral on Social Media

The viral video of the incident increased the promptness of the administration and police. The video clearly shows the extent to which the dispute escalated during the village council meeting.

It is wrong to bring minor disputes to a village council or public place. Such matters should be resolved through dialogue and compromise, not through violence. The police have appealed to the public to immediately inform them in case of any dispute and to exercise caution before making videos viral on social media.
