Cold wave conditions continue across several states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for rainfall and snowfall in eight states due to active western disturbances. According to the department, rainfall along with snowfall is likely over the western Himalayan region during the next 48 hours.
The IMD has forecast rain and snowfall across several northern states during the next 24 to 48 hours, including Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain and b winds are also likely in the national capital, Delhi.
According to the IMD, active western disturbances may lead to heavy rainfall and snowfall over northwestern India and the Himalayan region during the next 24 to 48 hours. Snowfall is likely in higher altitude areas, while plains may receive light to moderate rainfall. Wind speeds may range between 30 and 40 kilometres per hour.
Light rainfall is also expected in Arunachal Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

In Delhi-NCR, cold wave conditions persist. The IMD has forecast partly cloudy conditions over the next three days, with maximum temperatures remaining below normal. Fog and dense fog are likely at several locations during morning hours. On January 31, light rain accompanied by thunder and b winds is likely during the night, with wind speeds reaching 30–40 kmph.
In Uttar Pradesh, weather conditions remain cold following rainfall. Light to moderate rain with thunder is likely in western Uttar Pradesh on February 1 and 2, and in eastern Uttar Pradesh on February 2. Dense fog is expected in some districts.
In Rajasthan, rain with thunder is likely from January 31 to February 1. Hailstorm conditions are possible in western Rajasthan. Wind speeds may range between 30 and 40 kmph, and may reach up to 50 kmph at some locations. A temperature drop of 2–4 degrees Celsius is likely.
In Bihar, weather conditions are expected to remain normal over the next three days. No rainfall alert has been issued, though dense fog is likely during morning and evening hours. Minimum temperatures are expected to remain between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius.
In Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, snowfall in higher altitude areas and rainfall in plains is likely over the next four days. In Jammu and Kashmir, snowfall continues in higher regions, while rainfall is likely in lower areas. Temperatures are expected to remain below 0 degrees Celsius.
